Nevermore library

Nevermore Library

The Nevermore Library is a fictional place, one that I thought sounded neat, especially when I thought of how a library could deal with those having overdue books… “Borrowers with overdue books will be punished severely.”

Of course, this library is inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” poem. Upon re-reading the poem, I am reminded that the events take place, as described by the narrator, during “the bleak December,” specifically in “a midnight dreary.” So it doesn’t really take place during Halloween, but the poem is lodged into my thoughts when Halloween time rolls around, quite possibly due to the poem being included in the inaugural Simpson’s Treehouse of Horror.

Prints and t-shirts of this design are available at society6.

Certainly would get people to turn their books in on time.
