The Things At Our Feet

September 23, 2011

During a recent walk in the woods at the Catoctin Mountain Park in Maryland, my daughters and I had a great time on the Chimney Rock Trail. Lots of beauty to see out there, including the things at our feet–of mushrooms, a caterpillar, and acorns… I’m not a mushroom expert, but in looking up different types, I believe the orange one (third photo down) could be a Chicken of the Woods mushroom. What a great name for a mushroom.

Hello there. Thanks for popping over and leaving me a comment. Aren’t mushrooms just the greatest? They are so funny and yet so mysterious. There will lots more mushroom madness to come at my place, including significant developments in The Land of Nood.

I like your site and will be back to wander around some more.
