Irene Visits Maryland

August 30, 2011

Thankfully, Hurricane Irene didn’t bring lots of damage to my little corner of Maryland. Some branches down, and the electricity was out for less than a day. All in all, not bad at all. As Irene arrived on Saturday, I got out to take some photos — since the clouds were really impressive. Certainly not an extreme sport like the surfers who ride the intense waves brought on by the hurricane. But I had fun trying to capture the rolling clouds. These shots were taken in Thurmont, Maryland.

Great photos of the storm clouds. I live in New England and we were luckier than many in our area. Branches and apples on the ground but no destruction like further north of us.

Glad to hear that you fared well during the hurricane. I certainly hope conditions improve for Vermont and the other places where there is flooding due to Irene.
