Honeysuckle Trumpets

May 27, 2011

Honeysuckle illustration
Honeysuckle trumpets blast
the sweet aroma
that we have to answer,
and
bee-like, we taste the nectar
from a crowd, an orchestra, of them
thickening the vine,
reaching out,
trumpeting their musical scent,
sweetening the air.
Warm evenings are
growing longer
and
summer will soon be here.
