Winter Poem and Snow Image

February 3, 2011

Snow Art
Today, a special guest star appears on the blog! My daughter has given me permission to publish her snow image and Winter poem. I think her image spelling out “snow” in transparent tape on black paper is really creative. As she made the image, she hoped it would help bring snow to our area (Maryland). Snow did fall on us last week (Jan. 26), but we only received rain during the huge storm that dumped lots of snow on many parts of the Midwest and New England on Feb. 1. And now for her Winter poem (written before Christmas, as it has a reference to gifts)….

Winter

The snowflakes are falling,
It’s time to go back in.
The wind is calling,
I’m sneaking back out.
I want to go sledding, but,
presents I am getting.
I’m building a snowman,
and he’s frying eggs on a snowpan.
