Three Apples

October 14, 2010

Apple Painting
A couple of weekends ago, the family went to Larriland Farms in Maryland. It’s a great pick-your-own farm that uses Integrated Pest Management in order to reduce the use of pesticides (their website states that pesticides are used only as a last resort).

We came home with two big pumpkins and many pounds of apples: Golden Delicious, Staymans, Mutsus, and Empires. Tasty, crisp apples that we’ve been enjoying for over a week now. And still many more to go…

I also enjoyed the colors of these fruits and wanted to give painting them a shot. So I arranged them from green to green/red to red. All with a light blue background to try to make the colors pop.
