Gimme Ice Cream (poem 29)

July 23, 2010

Gimme
that ice cream
and
gimme it now.
Gimme
that ice cream
and
don’t have a cow.
‘Cause
cows give us
milk for our cereal
and
butter for our toast
and
cheese for our grilled cheese sandwiches
and
yogurt for our snacks.

So gimme
that ice cream.
Gimme it
in a cone, not a cup.
Gimme
that ice cream
and
I’ll eat it all up.
